Alessia Zecchini is a professional free diver from Italy intent on setting a new world record. As she prepares for a daring dive into the Red Sea’s Blue Hole in Dahab, Egypt, she meets a fellow free diver, Stephen Keenan, with whom she forges a deep bond. Together they train her, with Stephen acting as her safety diver, for the most ambitious dive of her career.
The Deepest Breath is a documentary film produced by A24, in collaboration with Motive Films, Ventureland, and RAW for a For Sama.
The film features the professional Italian free driver Alessia Zecchini, and the Irish safety diver Stephen Keenan. Free diving is a dangerous but thrilling sport that involves deep diving without any scuba gear or oxygen tanks. In the documentary, Alessia’s goal is to descend into the Blue Hole in Egypt.
