Devil May Cry (2025)

In the same vein as Netflix's Castlevania, Devil May Cry is a bloody affair full of demon maiming and endless quips that fuel epic battles larger-than-life. It's also stupid in comparison to Adi Shankar's other show, but Dante's roguish charm will pull you through regardless. Devil May Cry is the kind of video game adaptation that wants you to know it's cool and will beat you around the face with this notion until you finally give in, deliriously singing along to Limp Bizkit's Rollin' as you relive the best and worst of noughties nostalgia from the same era these games first came from.

If there’s one thing Netflix continues to get right, it’s their adaptations of video games and particularly their anime work. Devil May Cry is the latest fine example of this success for the streaming service. Anyone who’s played the original games will know just how delightfully dark Devil May Cry can get, and Netflix pulls no punches in allowing this side of the story to flourish on the small screen. If you’re craving something to fill the gaps left behind by Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan, this is the show for you. But, it's certainly accessible enough for anime newbies to dive into, too.
