Neal McDonough is a legendary bull rider who retired from the sport after a terrible injury. But when his grandson is in trouble, Neal realizes he must return to the rodeo in order to raise the funds and him. In order to prepare for his final ride, he must discover his faith and navigate his family’s disapproval.
A beautiful family film with an edge - and bull riding scenes that will “make you lose your marbles”
If you love films that talk about family and faith, and getting through things, you’ll love “The Last Rodeo.” But it’s not saccharine or sweet. It’s a movie like “Tombstone” or “The Pacifier” - it has an edge to it - but it also has everything a family can see together and talk about after. If you love those types of films, you’re gonna love this. Nowadays, movies are either really dark or explosive, so it’s hard to find good (family) films, but Jon Avnet directed such a beautiful movie, and I know everyone is going to gravitate towards it because it has such a great message. And if you love bull riding, you’re gonna lose your marbles. Those scenes are just breathtaking.
